Welcome to Old Blue
Old Blue is our oldest and most popular glamping cottage. It, like our other cottages, was designed and built with lots of repurposing of very loved materials that were too special to let be destroyed, or at the very least not appreciated. As you approach Old Blue, you realize how special it is. It looks like a fairy tale gingerbread cottage tucked into the woods surrounded by trees, water, and wildlife. You smell the over 100-year-old wood as soon as you enter the space and notice the old pine floors and tiny but well-stocked kitchen. You will lack for nothing in this miniature space. Replica vintage toaster, retro fridge, electric burner and even a blender. Fresh ground organic coffee grounds wait inside a tin container and extra virgin olive oil for cooking. In your fridge is a well-thought-out breakfast basket with a variety of items (depending on availability) Scones, cheese sticks, Greek yogurt, cereals, pastries…you won’t go hungry here! Venture into the bedroom and notice it has a sliding barn door for privacy and a pillow top wrought iron antique bed and a tiny shelf full of games, books, and DVDs. Watch a movie on those cold winter nights as you see the moonlight cast onto your bed. The room is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows on 3 walls. You will never have an experience like this anyplace else. All the windows open to the fresh air, so you can feel the breeze at night and hear all the amazing sounds of the woods… Owls, coyotes, frogs, frogs, frogs…did I say frogs? It is beyond belief. In the cottage loft is a full-sized, very comfy memory foam mattress (don’t ask how we got that up there!). Reading light, fans, and windows overlooking the woods on both sides. The back patio has solar Edison lights, a grill, fire pit and 4 Adirondack chairs with pillows. Firewood is provided, and we spray for bugs so you can enjoy this beautiful setting in peace.
About 30 feet away is your personal bathhouse. In the summer, the shower is hot and roomy. It is super cute and filled with creative furnishings to match the old-world feel of the space. Walk to the side of the cottage, and you see the Iron handle to the bathroom portion of the bath house. Inside is a camp toilet, in the winter it even has a heated seat! Park close to these buildings, and get engrossed in nature year-round.
